The % figure next to each rank indicates the lead of the winning majority over the nearest losing majority for that series. A lower figure indicates that this series is more likely to be displaced by a ranking edit or a new ranker.




The rankings above are determined according to a preferential voting system. Individual rankings are fed into a formula that helps determine community consensus.

To participate, simply make your own list of series you have watched, ranked in order from your most favourite (1) to your least favourite at the bottom. Ranking series you have dropped is not recommended, but there is no way for me to know if you do...

If anyone wants to know where I am getting these numbers, please take a look at the googledocs file linked at the top of the post. All the rankings are taken directly from BTF input in this same thread (see links directly above).

The formula used is as follows:

For each rank: % of votes per total votes cast for series a = a1
% among series b, c, d, e, etc = b1, c1, etc; the greatest % attains rank 1 (1st Place)

Greatest % for rank 2 (2nd Place) is then determined in same manner, ignoring the series at rank 1.

Ranking continues in this manner down the table, ignoring any series which have already attained a rank.

In case of tie for greatest %, the total number of votes cast for the series breaks the tie. Where a tie persists, average rank of series breaks tie. Tie persisting on both counts is possible, but rare. A tie when the tiebreakers are exhausted remains a tie and would be thus noted on the table above.

Series which have been ranked 3 times or less are omitted to prevent excess table shifting.

Suggestions for revisions to the formula are welcome and appreciated There is a special thread for this.

We've had a lot of polls to canvass opinion on Bee Train series, but I'm not entirely sure polls give as accurate a picture of BT fan opinion as we might.

I propose that we rank Bee Train series by an open ranking poll. The primary advantages of this system are that it provides a way for fans to rank ALL the series and change their rankings as desired.

How this works:

Simply rank all the Bee Train series you have seen in the order in which you prefer them. For instance, if you had only seen the original gwg trilogy and liked El Cazador over Madlax over Noir, you would post as follows:
1. El Cazador de la Bruja
2. Madlax
3. Noir

Feel free to include series you haven't finished. Also, feel free to change your order of preferences at any time.

Each ranking is evaluated as a "vote" for each series to be ranked at the position you indicate.

All OVA and non-solo Bee Train projects are includeable in the rankings but non-BT Mashimo-directed series are not. The list of ranked series above should include all "rankeable" series.

Please also read this thread with regard to including incomplete series.

Please be Honest in your rankings.

Let's save the time and trouble and just go ahead and post the result as: NOIR, UBER NUMBER 1!!!!!  MADLAX UBER NUMBER 2!  And of course EL CAZ NUMERO 3-O and the rest are just there.

1) do you think we should include other Mashimo-directed series?: Perhaps in separate poll that wouldn't be so bad but I don't see many results as much of his pre-Bee Train work remains a mystery to most.

2) do you think non-solo projects should be included?: Yes, most of their early works were co-produced by their parent Production I.G as well as Blade of the Immortal was co-produced with I.G.  In that addition there are a number of BT series where they will have episodes co-produced by other studios and vice-versa.  Though it may be too time consuming to include series where they co-produced single episodes so don't recommend getting that deep.

3) do you think OVA and short films should be included?: From Bee Train; absolutely we should.  Why on earth wouldn't we?
