A Pilgrimage To Paris

Season of Hell

"Season of Hell" is one of my most favourite episodes. So it was really important to me to find at least the park where Kirika and Milosh meet. I thought it would be an easy task, but it costed me nearly one day. My idea was: Since the Seine is trapped between walls, look at the map where parks are close to the river, visit it and compare it with the production sketches. My first guess, the bank between Pont Sully and Pont d'Austerlitz in front of the Jardin des Plantes/Ménageries, had some resemblance, but the bridge didn't match. I visited all the other parks - no luck. Then I got the idea I might recognize it from a different view - from the Seine. So I bought an ticket for the Batobus - and right, I found a park with a matching bridge - Pont Neuf. That was the beginning of the end of the illusion that the real Paris is the location of Noir.
For the chronological order: I've found St. Germain des Prés before searching for the locations of "Season of Hell". After "finding" it I returned to St. Germain des Prés and did realize that there is no matching lane close to it.

Here's a real one. The park begins where this little wall is at the right side.

One more view of the park...

....that had to match with this picture. As you can see, except Pont Neuf it has nothing in common.

That view is supposed to be from the Seine into the park...

...and that's how it looks in reality. That's because the park is located at the Ile de Cité.

After finding that out I felt rage in me. Why do they pretend it would play in Paris and then alter the locations that much? For me it would have been better they'd decided for a fictional place. Like some places where they carry out their hits. Or the town in Japan.

Remember what I've said in the beginning about Pont d'Austerlitz? That's a view at it from Pont Sully. Both sides look green, but at the left side are only single trees with plaster between them, as you can see it at the first screenshot. At the right side is a real park with grass between the trees. So they have mixed both locations together. The picture isn't from me. I've taken it from French Wikipedia. I wish I'd taken my own pictures despite it didn't match the production sketches. The resemblance would be obvious.
